powder coating questions

I took the sandblasting/powder coating SBU already but had a quick question that I didn't think of while in class :D

If I plan on just using 1 color can I just use the latex/rubber hose for the powder coating gun supplied at the tech shop? (and I'll be sure to clean it out before and after use.)

Also there seem to be a lot of brands of powder, and I plan on powder coating steel and aluminum parts. Would the product at the tech shop work just fine?
